So there's a federal program that covers all of the state of Maine (and I'm assuming other areas) that provides internet users $30 off their internet bill with their ISP. I called Spectrum to ask about that and yes, fine, I understand that this is an upsell but I'm currently paying almost $40 a month for our landline and Spectrum can offer the same thing for $14.99 a month instead.
We already have internet service with Spectrum. I was just calling about the $30/mo discount. Oh and hey yea, I'd love to have a cheaper bill for my land line phone.
I've received this "Terms and Conditions" thing from them that I believe is shady as fuck - I already have internet service with them, and this is purportedly so they can authorize someone to come out to set up the phone.
